The breathtaking Linville Falls are just a short drive away. You can take one of two main hiking trails that
lead to beautiful views of the Linville Falls.   Grandfather Mountain, highest peak in the Blue Ridge, is the
only private park in the world designated by the United Nations as an International Biosphere Reserve.
Considered the most biologically diverse mountain in eastern North America, Grandfather welcomes visitors
from across the globe to this unique example of the endangered high-elevation spruce-fir ecosystem.
At Grandfather Mountain you can photograph bears, river otters, panthers, deer, and eagles in spacious
natural wildlife habitats; browse through a nature museum that celebrates the natural history of the region
